It Only Makes Sense in Context

The Oracle Tree region is a flexible component that allows you to display hierarchical data in a simple, visual way. However, it's not without its challenges – one of which is creating dynamic context menus based on each node type within the tree. To do this you have to dive head-long into the wild world of the treeView widget, the menu widget, and the APEX JavaScript APIs. I don't know about you, but this usually scares the bejeesus out of me.

This presentation attempts to break down the walls of fear and clearly outline the steps you need to take build a dynamic, data driven, and repeatable context menu for the APEX Tree Region.

Doug has a unique background that merges both technical expertise and business understanding. His experience with Oracle APEX has spanned being a consultant, a permanent employee, a business owner and a member of the core APEX development team inside Oracle. 

Doug is currently a Senior Manager with Oracle's GBU-APEX Central Engineering group, focusing on educating and mentoring both new and experienced programmers on Oracle and APEX technology.
