Devops Tools for Database Developers

Are you thinking about modernizing your database development process... someday... maybe? Do you have directories full of .sql files you use to build your application? You know unit tests should be included as part of your build process and you are going to start adding them... maybe next week?

If you think modernizing your dev process will be difficult, time-consuming and expensive, you may be surprised at how easy and inexpensive it is to get started.

In this session, Blaine will explore how to manage your database application in a continuous development pipeline. He will talk about some open source tools you can use to automate building and testing your applications.

The sooner you get started, the more it will save you in the long run.

About the speaker:

Blaine Carter
Product Manager - Visual Builder Studio

I started programming in 1995.  For most of my career, I've used Oracle tools to build applications, beginning with Oracle Forms and Reports. I've worked a little with Node.js, Java, Python & Ruby, both inside and outside the database, and of course a whole bunch of SQL and PL/SQL.

I am borderline obsessed with automating as much as I can.  This has drawn me to CI/CD tools and, of course, the cloud!  I have a deep love of learning and sharing what I've learned with other people.  If I know something and you think I can help, just let me know.

I am a firm believer in learning by doing, failing, and then sharing at www.learncodeshare.net.
